Checklist: Implementing an Effective Working from Home Arrangement

Studies have shown that working from home arrangements can benefit your business as employees who work from home have increased concentration, less travel time, reduced stress and higher job satisfaction. It can also result in increased productivity and saving office space.

Generally, a working from home arrangement will only be reasonable if:

• the employee’s role does not require the employee to be present in the workplace;
• work tasks can be carried out safely away from the normal workplace; and
• the quality of the work performed is not affected by carrying out the role away from the normal workplace.
